Types of Care Provided

During the School Year:

A school calendar may be obtained in the Bristol School’s Main Office. Care is only scheduled for the days that the children are supposed to attend school, although care is usually available for most in-service days and scheduled closings.

Before School Care:

6:30 AM to 7:35 AM

Children will be allowed to play with the many activities found in the Kid’s Club classrooms. There will be many different board games and puzzles for them to work on and play with. There will be an art area set up with crayons, markers, paints, scissors, glue and many other art supplies. There will also be many other indoor activities from which to choose from. Breakfast: If you would like your child to have breakfast in the morning at Kid’s Club, you will need to supply the food on a daily basis or your child may attend the breakfast program at Bristol School.  Please set up an account through the school lunch program.

4K Wrap Around Care:

Before PM 4K 7:35 to 11:35 or After AM 4K 10:35 to 2:35

During 4K wrap-around care, the children will be included in a Joyce’s Preschool pre-kindergarten program. The program’s activities will include educational center time, a daily project, story time, group time, large motor activities and if possible an outside play time. The children will have lunch around 11 AM, they will be allowed to use the school lunch program or they will need to bring a nutritious/healthy peanut-free lunch. After lunch, the children will have a short rest time (some children may rest for a longer period of time if your child needs it).

Depending on which class your child is in, the AM group or the PM group, our staff will walk them to and from their 4 Year Old Kindergarten Program. At the end of the school day, the older children will join the 4 year olds for after school activities.

After School:

2:35 PM – 6:00 PM

Children will be separated into two groups. One group will be located in the Kid’s Club classroom (Multipurpose Room) and the other group will be located in the cafeteria. Depending on the day your child may be located in either area. As in the morning there will be many different board games and puzzles for them to work and play with. The children may occasionally be allowed to play fooseball, handheld video games and/or with the Nintendo Wii. There will be an art area set up with crayons, markers, paints, scissors, glue and many other art supplies. There will also be many other indoor activities from which to choose from. Occasionally the children will be allowed to go into the gym or go outside. In the winter we may even go sledding.

Early Release Days

12:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Children will be allowed to do the same activities they would do on any other after school day. We will occasionally go on a field trip on these days or bring in a special movie and snack.

Full Day Child Care:

Grades: 4 Year Old Kindergarten – 6th Grade
Days of Service: Monday through Friday
Hours of Operation: 6:30 AM TO 6:00 PM

On teacher in-service days and other days where the school may be closed, care may be provided for an extra fee. Approximately 2 weeks prior to the day off, Kid’s Club will send home a sign up/information form about the full day child care options available. A minimum of 8 children need to sign up for care on these days for the care to be provided here at the Bristol Grade School.

If we do not get 8 children signed up for care, no care may be provided or care may be available at an alternate Kid’s Club location: Riverview, Salem, Trevor-Wilmot or Wheatland.
